About the Club

The Villages Apple User Group is open to residents of The Villages, Florida. The purpose of the club is  help new and experienced users to get the most from their Macintosh computers and Apple iOS devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod touch,  Apple TV and Apple Watch). The meetings have a social atmosphere where members can network and connect with each other. TVAUG, over one thousand  strong and growing, has several meetings each month to provide help and information on many levels to members. Shirley was a born techie. Her dad was an electronics nerd, tinkering and building radios in the 1920ʼs, always trying to find a better way. By high school, she was building radios and was fascinated by electronics. She had a ham radio license as a teenager. Her interests include Quicken and genealogy.

She’s always ready to help with Mac or software questions.

Ed Muhs retired from the Navy. He and his wife, Linda, moved to the Villages in 1998 and live on the old, or historic side, on Orange Blossom Golf course. Ed has been collecting, repairing, and donating old computers. He enjoys the mental challenge of the repairs and even more the joy of giving.

Ed also helps TVMUG members with their Mac problems. He has teardown manuals (pdf’s) for most of the Macintosh computers. Contact Ed if you need help or have donations.

Bruce Mitchell

Bruce Mitchell

 1st Vice President & Webmaster of the Apple User Group
Bruce Mitchell is a retired elementary teacher from Michigan. Bruce and his wife are seasonal residents The Villages for 10 years, maintaining a summer home in the Great Lake state.
Bruce has been involved in user groups since the early 90s and is currently a member of Apple Pie and MacGroup Detroit. Bruce ran an educators and video SIG at the Mac user group in Ann Arbor. Bruce attended numerous MacWorld Expos in Boston and New York.
Bruce’s main interest on the Mac is Photoshop, post production video editing, and web authoring. He has a part time business producing photo montage dvds for a local funeral home.
Bruce’s latest addition is a beautiful 21 pound 27 inch iMac with a 3 GB Fusion drive.
